Aider Configuration

This skill configures Aider, an AI pair programming tool, with optimal settings for development workflows.

What This Does

Sets up Aider with:

Dark mode UI

Pretty formatted output

Automatic gitignore integration

API key placeholders for Anthropic and OpenRouter

Ollama local API configuration

When invoked, create or update the `.aider.conf.yaml` file in the project root with the following configuration:

1. Enable dark mode for better terminal readability

2. Enable pretty output for formatted responses

3. Enable gitignore integration to respect .gitignore rules

4. Add placeholder comments for API keys (Anthropic, OpenRouter)

5. Configure Ollama API base URL for local model support

The configuration should include:

`dark-mode: true`

`pretty: true`

`gitignore: true`

`anthropic-api-key:` with comment for user to add their key

`api-key:` with comment for OpenRouter key

`set-env:` section with `OLLAMA_API_BASE=http://127.0.0.1:11434`

User: "Set up aider configuration"

Assistant: Creates `.aider.conf.yaml` with the standard configuration

User: "Configure aider with my settings"

Assistant: Creates the configuration file with placeholders for API keys

Auto-commits and dirty-commits are commented out by default (can be enabled if needed)

Users must add their own API keys for Anthropic and OpenRouter

Ollama configuration assumes local installation on default port 11434

File should be created in the project root directory

Respects gitignore patterns to avoid tracking unwanted files
